The Exhibition in Motion: Objects Performed curators, in collaboration with choreographer Amelia Reeber, asked the following 10 dancers to experience in front of an audience of 450 people.

Amelia Reeber


Amelia Reeber, dances, choreographs, sometimes teaches, and is a certified BodyTalk practitioner.  She is interested in dreaming, the narrative and wisdom of the body, self-knowledge, transformation, and other investigations, nature, and humor. Amelia has performed nationally and internationally and is a 2011 touring SCUBA Artist. She will also be performing in NYC as a part of the A.W.A.R.D. Show All Stars!In 2010, she was the Velocity Dance Centerʼs  Choreographer in Residence. She has received support for her work from City of Seattle Office of Arts & Cultural Affairs, 4Culture, smART ventures, Artist Trust, & Artist Trust Fellowship.

Beth Graczyk

Beth Graczyk is a physical artist who works as a contemporary dancer, choreographer, and teacher.  She engages in process-oriented inquiries that yield both public performances and private time-based investigations that creatively pursue the experience of everyday life. Performing both nationally and internationally since 2001, Beth currently co-directs Salt Horse, a dance/music ensemble with Corrie Befort and Angelina Baldoz.  Recently, they launched into their new work, Titan Arum, to premiere spring 2011. She has received funding through 4 Culture, Washington State Arts Commission, Artist Trust, Mary Gates Research Training Grant, and Evelyn H Green endowment.  Beth is a published Research Scientist in biochemistry at the University of Washington where she works part-time on mitosis.

Curiosity of the expressive body brought Jessica Jobaris to study, perform, teach and choreograph in Seattle, NYC, and EU. She has been awarded residencies/commissions throughout the U.S., creating 25+ dance works. Jessica performed with Seattle all-stars Lingo dance theater, Scott/Powell Performance, Maureen Whiting Co., Bryon Carr Performance (NYC), and in Berlin for German MTV, Kristin Berger, Felix Ruckert, Jess Curtis/Maria Scaroni, visual artist Eloise de Hauteclocque. Her current production will be co-presented by OTB for the 2011 NWNW Festival in Seattle, and she is a guest artist with dance company Salt Horse.

Jody Kuehner is a dance artist and choreographer living in Seattle. Currently she is captivated by and ecstatically exploring a new character named Cherdonna who is one half of a duet called: The Cherdonna and Lou Show. Jody has been dancing for the Pat Graney Company since 2008 following her internship with Pat’s prison project Keeping The Faith in 2007. She has also performed works by KT Niehoff, Mark Haim, Jurg Koch, Wade Madsen and was a member of d9 Dance Collective for four years. She has presented choreography at On The Boards, Velocity Dance Center, University of South Florida and the Joyce SoHo NYC.

Ricki Mason is a Seattle based dance artist who performs primarily as drag
persona Lou Henry Hoover.  Lou is one half of The Cherdonna and Lou Show andone third of the pop trio Dance Belt.  Additionally, Ricki directed LAUNCH
dance theater from 2003 to 2009, and currently dances with KT Niehoff's
Lingo dancetheater.  Ricki teaches at Velocity Dance Center and Century
Ballroom.

Marissa Niederhauser is the owner/operator of 100+ pounds of precision-calibrated dancing flesh. She believes that motion and noise are perhaps the only salvation in this torrential life and has dedicated herself to the constant pursuit of such.  Marissa Rae Niederhauser makes dances, films and installations under the pseudonym of Josephine’s Echopraxia.  Josephine's Echopraxia is fiscally sponsored by Shunpike.

Mike Pham is an independent performance artist and is co-creative principal of Helsinki Syndrome, an experimental performance group presenting non-linear ensemble and solo performance work that incorporate elements of theater, movement and video. He has presented work in Seattle, Portland, New York, and London. He participated in two consecutive artist residencies at Richard Foreman's Ontological-Hysteric Incubator in 2008-09 and was a semifinalist for the 2011 Henry Art Gallery Brink Award for emerging Pacific Northwest artists. He attended New York University and the Atlantic Theater Company Acting School and is a graduate of Seattle Central Creative Academy with a degree in graphic design.

Peggy Piacenza 

Peggy Piacenza is a 2010 undergraduate of the Ada Comstock Scholars program at Smith College. For most of her pre-college life she worked extensively in Seattle as a choreographer and performer touring both nationally and internationally. She continues to absorb herself in the performing arts and feels lucky to be involved in so many inspiring projects.

Aaron Swartzman is a dancer, father, improviser, Capoeirista and educator. He began dancing as a child, taking classes at Creative Dance Center and performing with Kaleidoscope Dance Company. After college, his love of improvisation, collaboration, and the body in motion brought him back to dance. He has danced professionally since 2001, working deeply with LINGO dancetheater and LeGendre Performance. He has been creating collaborative duets with Aiko Kinoshita since 2006 as UMAMI Performance. He believes in the richness and practice of discovering spontaneous beauty and weaving it towards ongoing artistic transformation.

Most of her life Amelia Windecker has been pursuing knowledge of how our bodies work, how we process information and the rich life we can discover and develop through deepening this understanding. She is an artist, a traveler, a northwest native and has a deep connection with nature. Amelia Windecker has a Hellerwork Structural Integration Therapy practice in Fremont, where she is dedicated to helping people find comfort and freedom in their bodies.
